who I see:

Individuals who have sensory processing challenges and/or executive function challenges.

(Common diagnoses include : sensory processing disorder (SPD), Autism, ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, & Bipolar Disorder).

if you experience:

sensory processing & regulation challenges

what that can look like:

- discomfort with certain sensory input such as textures of food and clothing, lighting, unexpected noises, etc.

- difficulty focusing on a task when there's too much else going on in the environment,

and so much more!

executive function (EF) challenges

what that can look like:

difficulties with any or all of the following skills:

task initiation

attention

emotion regulation

planning and organization

metacognition

impulse control

cognitive flexibility

working memory

time management

task perseverance

mental health challenges

what that can look like:

Often, differences in sensory processing and in EF ability can lead to feelings of isolation, anxiety, and negative thought patterns that then impact self-concept and well-being. This can cause depression and anxiety, but it is treatable with mental health OT.

how mental health OT can help

We work together to create and sustain weekly short-term goals to help facilitate engagement and presence in meaningful occupations and long-term goals.

The aim of mental health OT is to help p
eople engage meaningfully in their lives, creating regulating and sustainable habits, routines, and rituals, and to develop positive coping strategies for triggers and stressors, with a focus on SENSORY HEALTH (click for more info).

the process:

1. For more information or for a consultation:
Please contact me via the Contact page or send me an email directly at ot@sharonevandc.org
2. Initial evaluation:
A comprehensive evaluation to determine your sensory profile, determine areas of strength & challenges, provide education on sensory processing/regulation, and create long-term goals.
3. Move Forward with Plan of Care:
Weekly or biweekly sessions that are patient-centered and neurodiversity-affirming.

Currently I do not accept insurances. Please contact me with interest in pricing options.

"Things I am getting out of OT:

  • creating my own structure/routine (but learning to be flexible)

  • breaking down larger tasks/goals into smaller more manageable steps

  • learning how to set long-term goals and the short-term goals that go with the overall goal

  • increasing socialization

  • daily living/personal goals

  • working on organization/planning

  • learning to ADVOCATE for myself

  • getting accommodations at work

  • working towards what I want in life

  • positive self-talk

  • working on sense of self <3 "
